One killed in a crash outside of Adrian

A 12-year-old child was killed in a single-vehicle wreck outside of Adrian early Saturday morning.

At 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west on Interstate 40 eight mmiles west of Adrian. 

DPS officials report that the driver, Narcisco Serafin Jr., 26, Dallas, was driving at an unsafe speed for the curve of the road.

The vehicle traveled off of the road and into the center median where the driver attempted to get back on the road but lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle then rolled multiple times and came to a rest on its driver side on the inside west-bound lane.

A 12-year old child of San Bernadino, Calif. was pronounced dead on the scene by Oldham County Justice of the Peace Kristy O’Malley.

Patricia Serafin-Cruz, San Bernadino, Calif. and Narcisco Serafin, Sr., Dallas, were the passengers and transported to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Serafin Jr. was also transported to Amarillo NWTX with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.  Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators findings.
