Ornamental plant, turf conference planned for Feb. 13 in Amarillo

The annual Ornamental and Turf Conference will be Feb. 13 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 6500 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo. The event is sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Potter County.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and the first presentation at 9 a.m. Topics will include urban prairie dogs, weed control, ant management, turf, and laws and regulations.

The fee is $20. Cash and checks only, and make checks payable to Potter Horticulture. Invoices can only be arranged prior to the conference. To preregister, or for more information, contact Megan Eikner, AgriLife Extension agent in Potter County, at 806-373-0713 or megan.eikner@ag.tamu.edu. 

Lunch will be on your own during a break from noon to 1:30 p.m. The conference will conclude at 3:30 p.m.

Five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units – one laws and regulations and four general – have been submitted for approval.
