Oscar C. Sargent, 85, of Emory and formerly of Pampa, passed away on November 13, 2019 at his home in Emory.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 18, 2019 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with, Rex Freriks, a family friend, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Oscar was born January 9, 1934 in Lefors, Texas to Clarence and Minnie Sargent. Ocsar attended Pampa High School and was a Pampa Harvester. As a young man, Oscar boxed in Golden Gloves organization. After high school, he served in the US Navy during the Korean War. On March 26, 1956, he married Betty Fleming in Pampa.  Oscar became a member of United Plumbers and Pipefitters and worked in USA and internationally for 61 years, retiring in 1995. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Hidden Hills Golf Club.  He shall be missed by many of his family and friends.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; and by two brothers, Edward Sargent and Walter Sargent; and by his sister, Verena Stankviczh.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Sargent of Emory; a daughter, Sherrie Adams and husband Reggie of Emory; by a son, Mike Sargent and wife Patty of Ringgold, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Bobbye Martin of Borger and Roberta Serarle of Marrietta, Georgia.

The family will have a visitation on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 4:00-5:30 PM at the funeral home.
