The Crawford Roofing Company Red Sox broke open a tie game in the bottom of the third inning scoring 14 times to defeat Glo-Valve Service 17-3 Monday in Pampa Optimist 11-12 Cal Ripken play.
The winning pitcher, Landry Crawford, gave up three unearned runs on three hits. He struck out seven and walked two.
Crawford Roofing took a three- run lead in the top of the first inning on a walk to Eliaz Rodriguez, a single by Crawford, a double by Cruise Godingo and a ground out by Phoenix Lopez. Glo-Valve tied the score in the top of the third. Payton Pennington got things started with a double. Decklin Strong walked. Both runners moved up on a ground out. They both scored when David Buendia reached base on an error. Buendia took second on a fielder’s choice and scored on a single by Gentry Stanhope.
The roof fell in on Glo-Valve in the third inning. Tyson Franks and Rodriguez walked and scored twice. Crawford doubled twice and scored both times. Godingo slammed a two-run homer and scored again after an error and a double by Lopez. Lopez, Kole Hartman, Nate Briones, Madden Campos and Harley Johnson walked and scored.
Glo-Valve had several outstanding defensive plays. Stanhope threw a runner out at third from right field. Daniel Moncado made the tag. Penningtonton threw a runner out at third from center field. Carson Rogers caught a runner trying to steal third base. Monacado had four put outs at third base in the game.
Crawford Roofingn will visit the Phillies on Friday. Glo-Valve will be back in action on Monday when they also visit the Phillies. Both games are at 6:30 p.m. at Optimist Park.
