WHEREAS, Lance DeFever, Mayor of the City of Pampa, Texas and the Top of Texas Republican Women of Pampa proclaim that we are united with the people of Ukraine who at this time are under attack from the Russian Army under the direction of Vladimir Putin. We condemn this violent act of aggression against the Ukrainian people.
WHEREAS, this attack has devastated the county of Ukraine, killing innocent women and children which has been documented by our country for “war crimes.”
WHEREAS, we support and encourage our government to send ALL the financial aid needed quickly as well as the military to send ALL defensive weapons, including the jets requested by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
WHEREAS, we send our prayers for a rapid end to this senseless invasion from the Russian Army and call upon Vladimir Putin to stop his brutal war machine immediately.
WHEREAS, we join in praying for the Ukrainian men who are fighting to save their beloved Ukraine, the women and children who have been displaced and those remaining in the county to stay safe and for those Ukrainians who have lost their lives and for their grieving families.
NOW THEREFOR, be it resolved, that Lance DeFever, Mayor of the City of Pampa and the Top of Texas Republican Women stand firm with the people of Ukraine in their fight for freedom. We are struck by their strength, courage, and bravery; and urge all citizens of Pampa to express their support for the people of Ukraine through prayers throughout this war.
