Pampa United Way moves into new location

The Pampa United Way moved into their new location at 801 N. Sumner on Oct. 1 after the Pampa Economic Development Corporation took over Pampa Community Building (formerly known as the Chamber of Commerce).

“The City of Pampa didn’t renew our lease and sold the building to the Pampa EDC, who needed the space,” United Way Executive Director Jana Gregory said. “They asked us to move out and Richard (Stowers) was kind enough to offer us office space in his building.”

The United Way had looked at other locations, but the offer Stowers had given was the best option. Gregory said their new location has more space than at their old location.

The Pampa United Way is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., but Gregory will work with anyone outside of those hours.

“My office phone isn’t set up but they can call my cell phone at 806-661-8188,” Gregory said. “I will be glad to make an appointment to meet them here. It’s business as usual.”

The Pampa United Way is in the middle of their campaign season, hoping to raise $200,000 for their 12 agencies.

“We are about 1/4 of the way there,” Gregory said. “We still have a lot of businesses that are out. We are just waiting for those funds to come it.”

The Pampa United Way will host their fifth-annual United Way Halloween 5K Walk/Run on Oct. 25 at 5:30 p.m. and will have a trunk-or-treat along the way.

“Each agency will set up a trunk-or-treat,” Gregory said. “There will be water stations. Kids are free with an adult and pets on a leash are welcome. Costumes are optional but we always like to have them.”

The Pampa United Way will have their annual awards banquet on Jan. 25, 2022 at noon. in the Pampa Community Building at 200 N. Ballard in the M.K. Brown Room.

Allocation interviews for the United Way’s agencies will be on Feb. 22, 2022.
