Our Career Technology Education programs have started their certification processes for students and we couldn’t be more proud of the results thus far. Our Culinary Arts program had 11 students earn the ServeSafe Certificate, which allows them to be a restaurant manager in any state in the country. Mrs. Wichert also has certified 24 students with their food handlers license which allows them to work in the food service industry. Our Welding pathway had 61 students earn their certification in welding (GRI Tower Systems in Amarillo has already reached out to get our students to apply for jobs). Our welding students had a 98% passing rate on their certification exams! Our Health Sciences pathway has just started their certification exams. They’ve already certified one Clinical Medical Assistant and are looking for more as well as several students who will earn their phlebotomy certifications in the coming weeks. Auto Tech is starting their ASE certifications and our Business students are challenging the Microsoft Office Specialist exams (now a requirement for admission to most business schools in college). Lady Harvester Softball took on Monahans in the Bi-District round of the playoffs in Lockney Friday and Saturday. They won their series 2-1 and are now Bi-District Champions. They will take on Clint in Andrews this Friday and Saturday. Best of luck ladies! Harvester Tennis athletes Mason Bagwell and Terry Ketchum competed in the State Tournament Tuesday and we are so proud of the season they had and the way they represented our campus and community this season. Great job boys! Thursday evening, Pampa High School Band performed their Spring Concert at PHS. It was a beautiful showcase of their talent and hours of hard work. Way to go band! The end of the week was busy as we sent students to State competitions in Art and E-Sports. Harvester track was in Lubbock at the Regional Track Meet Friday and Saturday. Madox Jones qualified for the State Track Meeting in the Discus and we wish him well as he competes for us in Austin in two weeks. Prom was a spectacular event Saturday night and was filled with fun, laughter, and excitement. A huge thank you goes out to Mistie West, Nicholas Thomas, PHS staff, and the parents and students who helped decorate and make the evening a success. We’re so proud of our students and blessed by this community that supports them. It’s a great day to be a Harvester!
