Pregnancy Support Center Annual Banquet Returns

Pregnancy Support Center & Hope House are hosting their banquet, what used to be annual but has been put on hold for Covid related issues. Monica Galloway, who’s been with the organization for 23 years explains the reasoning for the banquet.

“We love the banquet as an opportunity to show what we do and how we serve the community,” Galloway said. “It’s also a time for us to interact with the community and raise money to help us continue doing what we do.”

The organization helps pregnant women with any issues across the board, from housing to formula. In recent years, the organization hired Yvette Cuellar to serve as their nursing director to oversee and help.

“Yvette was the perfect addition to what we are able to do,” Galloway said. “Having her here has offered us the ability to better serve the women we get in and take the best care of them while they are here with us.”

While the banquet has been on hold for a few years, there are high hopes for this years.

“I feel a bit out of practice after not being able to do it for a couple of years,” Galloway joked. “But we are ready for the amazing night we have planned.”

The event will be hosted at M.K. Brown on March 6th, with catering from Desperado.

“It’s no charge, all I need is a reservation and head count,” Galloway said. “We don’t receive government funding, the community is the reason we’re able to do what we do. So this is our once a year event to raise money and take donations.”

The organization receives help in the forms of community grants and community funding to continue offering help to women.

“We offer free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds to the women that come in, we are the starting place for women that aren’t sure,” Galloway said. “Even after birth we still are a source of support in many ways to women. That’s our job, to help a mom with what she needs.”

Candy Gibbs will be speaking at the event, who is the executive director over the organization in Amarillo. Gibbs will be shedding light on all aspects that they support moms in the community.

“We have Candy speaking and informing people, but we also have a video that we are excited to show,” Galloway said. “We got to work with Mix Media One on this amazing video and we’re so excited for that and to see all the work Ky has put into this.”
