Interim Home Care and Hospice…”When it matters most, count on us!”

WHEREAS, home care, hospice and palliative care offer the highest quality services and support to patients and family caregivers facing serious and life-limiting illness; and

WHEREAS, home care, hospice and palliative care philosophy places the needs of the individual at the center of care allowing the patients and family caregivers to focus on quality of life, surrounded and supported by family and loved ones; and

WHEREAS, home care, hospice and palliative care offers those they serve the high-quality of care delivered by an interdisciplinary team of skilled professionals and trained volunteers that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, counselors, health aides, spiritual care providers and others who make the wishes of the patient and family a priority; and

WHEREAS, through pain management and symptom control, caregiver training and assistance, and emotional and spiritual support, allowing patients to live fully up until the final moments, surrounded and supported by the faces of loved ones, friends, and committed caregivers; and

WHEREAS, every year more than 1.6 million Americans living with life-limiting illness, and their families, received care from the home care and  hospice programs in communities throughout the United States;  

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Brad Pingel, Mayor by virtue of the authority vested in me by the City of Pampa, Texas do hereby proclaim November 2019 as:

“National Home Care & Hospice Month”

and encourage citizens to increase their understanding and awareness of care that is provided through these services and to observe this month with appropriate activities and programs. IN WITNESS HEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Pampa to be affixed this 16th day of October, 2019.
