At approximately 2:45 p.m on Tuesday, the Pampa Police Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of Christine in reference to an assault. In addition to the assault, the suspect had made claims of wishing to harm himself.
Upon arriving at the scene of the assault, the suspect in the case, later identified as 27 year old Ryan Holt, fled the scene in a black Honda sedan. When other responding Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.
The suspect continued to evade Officers and refused to stop while driving on various streets and directions throughout town. As precautionary measures, unsure of the suspects motives or destination, the Department notified PISD to initiate a precautionary lock-out of Pampa ISD campuses.
The suspect continued to flee and upon nearing Walmart, located at 2801 N Charles, jumped out of the vehicle and began running on foot towards Best Western where he was taken into custody.
The victim in the assault case was transported to Pampa Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Holt was booked into the Gray County Jail on the charges of Assault Causes Bodily Injury and Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle.
Pampa Police Department extends our gratitude to the Gray County Sheriff's Office, Gray County Constable Office Precinct 2, Texas DPS, and Gray CO EMS for their assistance in the incident.
