Teresa Vainrib, owner of Pampa Therapeutic Message, has an exceptional massage therapist career. With nearly 29 years of massage experience, Vainrib is dedicated to the improvement of the physical wellness of her clients.

Though Vainrib has been certified and conducting massages since 1994, it was in 2000 that Vainrib officially began schooling to become a massage therapist.

During her schooling, Vainrib taught reflexology, a type of physical therapy that applies pressure to certain areas on the body, for four years.

In 2005, Vainrib and her family moved to Pampa from her hometown Atlanta, Georgia.

Vainrib began her therapeutic massage practice near Pampa Regional Medical Center.

Vainrib conducted her practice in Pampa until 2009, when she and her family transferred to Houston. Though she moved far away, Vainrib had dedicated clients who were willing to fly her out to Pampa. For two years, Vainrib would constantly travel from Houston to Pampa for work.

Vainrib reflected upon that period of her career.

“It was trying,” Vainrib said. “I would work anywhere from 35 to 47 hours each week that I was here in Pampa.”

Eventually in 2019, an opportunity arose for Vainrib where she would live and work in Pampa for half the year.

“I told Chris, my husband, that I would live in Pampa for six months,” Vainrib said. “Things worked out. He got a job at Resound and we moved back.”

The Vainribs moved back to Pampa at the beginning of 2020.

Vainrib reopened her practice in Pampa on January 14th. Sadly, with the global covid pandemic drastically spreading, Vainrib had to halt her practice just two months later.

Vainrib reminisced about the hardships she faced during this time.

“It was tough. I had clients who had medical issues that needed me,” Vainrib said. “It was really hard. There is a point in therapeutic massages where we need to advance treatment on certain areas of the body and we couldn’t.”

Throughout her career as a massage therapist, Vainrib has taken the time to improve on her techniques that she utilizes in her massages. Vainrib offers reflexology, deep tissue massages, neuromuscular therapy (which focuses on the body’s trigger points), myofascial release (a therapy technique that focuses on pain related to the myofascial tissues), and craniosacral therapy (a gentle therapy technique that deals with areas related to the cranium). As well, Vainrib credits the Lord for her massage therapy skills.

“My practice is based on ministry because He works through my hands,” Vainrib said. “I’m totally God-driven and I know He provided my gift.”

Vainrib does her absolute best to cultivate the ideal atmosphere for every single one of her clients. During her appointments, Vainrib tailors the music and scents to the needs of her client. As well, Vainrib values the privacy of her clients. What is discussed during the appointments stays confidential.

“This is about my clients getting away and cultivating a relaxed atmosphere,” Vainrib said. “I encourage people to turn off the world out there. Just be present.”

Vainrib expressed her sincerest gratitude to those who have helped her throughout her journey of becoming a massage therapist.

“I had amazing classmates. One classmate, Lisa Becker, and I would get together four hours a week. We would test out different massage techniques,” Vainrib said. “My friend, Jan Shelby, was my massage therapist. She’s been the biggest mentor of mine. She really encouraged me. She was the one who brought me out of my shell and urged me to pursue my schooling.”

Vainrib expressed her delight of being a massage therapist.

“Massage therapy is my passion. Helping people is my passion,” Vainrib said. “I don’t do it for a pat on my back. I do it because it’s my passion.”
