Robert E. “Bob” Pitman, 83, of Pampa, passed away on June 30, 2022 in Pampa.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Bob was born February 18, 1939 in Winfield, Kansas to Kenneth and Dorothy Pitman. He graduated from Littlefield High School in 1957. Bob enlisted in the US Army in 1961 and served until 1963. He married Gloria Barker on October 8, 1975 and she passed away on March 29, 1999. Bob has lived in Pampa since 1979. He worked at Cabot for 23 years as a production foreman; retiring in 2001. On May 4, 2001, he married Maurita Turner Blackwell. He was a longtime member of Barrett Baptist Church and later Cornerstone Baptist Church. He enjoyed working outside and helping where he could at the church. Bob loved to take care of yard and other yards in the neighborhood as long as his health allowed. After retirement, he seemed to always stay busy in his shop.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Pitman; daughter, Becky Mooney; three brothers, Kenneth Pitman, Gary Pitman, and Donnie Pitman.

Survivors include his wife, Maurita of the home; son, Shawn Pitman and wife Christie of Mansfield; daughter, Lisa Stone and husband Ray of Anton; two brothers, John Pitman of Lubbock and Carl Pitman and wife Sharon of Kempner; sister, Mary Vorheis of Clarendon; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
