Roberta Klapper, 83, of Pampa passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Briarwood Church with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor at Carpenter’s Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The family requests that those attending the funeral service to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Roberta was born on November 3, 1937 in Friona to Bud and Juanita Boggess Reed. She moved from Friona to Pampa in 1956. Roberta married the love of her life, Billy Klapper on February 2, 1973 in Childress. She was a member of Carpenter’s Church for several years. Roberta worked at Addington’s Western Wear, Farm Bureau, Baker Elementary, and Wilson Elementary. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and serving at her church. Roberta was known for singing specials at church and cooking for her church family. Roberta rode horseback competitively well into her 60’s. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Roberta will be remembered for competitive nature, her kindness, and her cooking skills.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Reed; son, Tommy Watson; son-in-law, Bobby Briscoe; and granddaughter, Bana Carnes.

Roberta is survived by her husband, Bill Klapper; 6 children, Kathy Taylor and husband Charlie, Regina Dye, Glenda Briscoe, Doug Watson, Debbie Yeates and husband David, and Elizabeth Wilson; 1 sister, Patsy Bandy and husband Eugene; 17 grandchildren, Autumn, Whitney, Dillon, Robby, Lea Ann, Terra, Jessica, Cullon, Josalyn, Shelton, Ricky, Cody, Drake, Dusty, Mandy, Rebecca, and Darrell; 30 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
