Ronnie Haynes, 61, of Pampa passed away on February 17, 2020 at his home in Pampa.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Briarwood Church with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Ronnie was born July 28, 1958 in Pampa to H.N. and Judy Haynes. He was a 1976 graduate of Pampa High School. On December 9, 1978 he married Dennie Roach in Pampa. Ronnie began his working career with Getty Oil Company in 1978, he survived and worked through 5 buy outs during his time, leaving in 2006. He then started his own business, Haynes Trucking, and operated until 2018. Ronnie was a lifetime member of Pampa Optimist Club, where he served on the board of directors, including 2 terms as president. 

Ronnie enjoyed watching the Jerry Springer Show, Steve Harvey, and Family Feud when he was not Facebooking. Also, enjoyed playing Dominoes and shooting pool. Ronnie was very quick witted and always had a comeback line. He had an incredible work ethic and was a hard worker his entire life. While growing up he was known as “pup” as his older brother was “mad dog”, his grandchildren called him “Poppy” and he loved them dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Dale Haynes and Steve Garrison.

Survivors include his wife, Dennie of the home; daughter, Lauren Haynes of Pampa; son, Aaron Haynes of Pampa; 2 sisters, Shelley Dyer and husband Shane and Ken McGuire all of Pampa; 6 grandchildren, Lorell Haynes, Luckaleigh Haynes, Emma Haynes, Owen Haynes, Joshua Pate, and Ethen Pate; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be sent to Pampa Special Olympics, PO Box 375, Pampa, Texas 79066.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 PM.
