Ruby Fay Adcock, formerly of Pampa, passed away on February 18, 2022 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral home in Amarillo.

Ruby was born May 10, 1938 to Ada and Andrew Peterson in Lipscomb Co. Tx. She was the eighth of nine children and sixth of seven girls. She grew up on a farm near Canadian, TX where there was plenty of challenging work, shenanigans, and tea parties with her much beloved sisters. She was often her Dad’s ‘go to’ girl to work the farm. She even taught herself to drive when her Dad sent her to fetch a truck despite having never driven a car, much less a stick shift farm truck.

Ruby graduated from TTU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education in 1959 and immediately married the love of her life, Robert Adcock. Bob and Ruby were married for 61 years until Roberts’s passing on December 22, 2020. She and Bob lived in Lubbock TX, Pampa TX, Big Spring TX, Vienna WV, Franklin LA, and back to Pampa TX where they lived in the same house for 51 years.

She and Bob traveled and played in many tennis tournaments, played bridge with friends, and travelled the world together. Together they lovingly raised 4 children. Ruby was indeed Bob’s precious jewel. She taught school, crafted, painted and sewed beautifully. She was a fun loving, often unpredictable, and always available, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and mentor.

She raised her family attending Mary Ellen at Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa, TX and had a lifelong desire to know Christ. She was consistently part of a church community and a ladies bible classes where she was devoted to learning and living the Word.

She is survived by her four children, Joe Adcock and his wife Cindy, Randal Adcock, Laura Boone and her husband Danny, Andrea DeLoach and her husband Derrell, two sisters, Josie Pinkston and Texa Harper, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
