Ruth M. Hansen, 95, of Pampa, Texas passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 in Pampa, Texas.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Beverly Cemetery in Blue Island, Illinois with Pastor Paul Hudson, Great Nephew, officiating under the direction of Krueger Funeral Home in Blue Island, Illinois. Local arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Hansen was born on June 20, 1926 in Dyer, Indiana to William and Marie Christensen Sons. Ruth graduated from Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois in 1944. She married Floyd Harger on December 11, 1954. He passed away on August 16,1980. Ruth started as a secretary at Morton International on March 13, 1958 and retired after 32 years of service on June 26, 1990. She later married Robert Hansen on October 12, 2002. He passed away on November 17, 2019. She moved to Pampa, Texas to live with family in January of 2020. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Harvard, Illinois and attended Bible Baptist Church while in Pampa. She enjoyed sewing, needle work, and knitting, donating most of her works to those in need. Ruth played the piano, did puzzles and word searches and played bingo with her family.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Sons, Mildred Hess, and Vivian Davis; a nephew, Ronald Hess; and a niece, Sharon Smith.
Ruth is survived by a niece, Marilyn Hudson and husband Bob of Pampa, Texas; a nephew, Jack Davis and wife Carol of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
