Monday, the City of Pampa and Gray County announced the hiring of Troy Schwiegerath as the new Emergency Management Coordinator.
Troy and his wife, Breanne moved to Pampa in 2008. They have four daughters. Troy and his wife are co-owners of the Cinema 4 movie theater.
Troy was most recently a Lieutenant for the City of Denver Fire Department where he retired in May of 2021 after 27 years of service. Troy worked in Denver and would travel back on his off time, while his family was living in Pampa.
Gray County Judge Chris Porter on the hiring of Schwiegerath, “We had a lot of qualified candidates which made this a challenging decision. However we are excited for our County and feel like with Troy’s experience, dedication and proactive attitude he is a great choice for our future.”
Also, City of Pampa Mayor Lance DeFever has this to say on the hiring, “I am excited about Mr. Schwiegerath’s experience and the knowledge he will bring to this position. He will be a great asset for our community.”
