Sherry Noffsker Olsen passed away March 15, 2022 at the T Boone Pickens Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, TX. Sherry was a 1966 graduate of Clovis Senior High School. Sherry’s family were long time members of First Baptist Church of Clovis, NM where she made her profession of faith at the early age of 8. Sherry met and married Jim Olsen at FBC Clovis. They were married in October 1966. Sherry loved children and served as Children’s Director and preschool teacher both in churches and private schools for many years.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, WA and Elva (Vinyard) Noffsker and an older sister, Barbara Shelton.
Sherry is survived by Jim Olsen, Dina and Brandt Brown (daughter & son-in-law), and grandsons Brody and Cade Brown, all of Richardson, TX; Steve and Jayme Olsen (son & daughter-in-law), grandson Parker Olsen, and granddaughter Reagan Olsen, all of Canyon, TX. Sherry’s grandchildren were blessed with “Gram’s Nuggets” - words of wisdom and encouragement, on the first Monday of each month for many years. She has left a legacy of faith and love.
Sherry is also survived by her twin sister Patricia Foster of Lawton, OK. Surviving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include Bob and Eileen Olsen of Euless, TX, Gary and Cheryl Elliott of Clovis, NM, Dennis and Roni Olsen of Coweta, OK, and Mike Olsen of Clovis, NM. She is survived by many nephews and nieces including Bill Odle of Houston, TX, Tanna Vu of Weatherford, OK, Brent Elliott and Bryan Elliott of Clovis, NM. She is also survived by cousins Bill and Jan Noffsker of Amarillo, TX.
We want to extend much appreciation to the fine doctors and nurse staff of Baylor Scott & White Hospital of Plano, TX - especially Dr. Colleen Kennedy and Dr. Suraj Jacob - for the excellent care they provided to Sherry during her extended stay.
