Standout From The Ordinary

Seeking to fill your wardrobe with vibrant clothes that are trendy and timeless? Bureau of Style provides unique fashions for women of all ages.

Ashley “Ash” Smith, owner of Bureau of Style, will be opening up her very own storefront in Pampa.

Smith earned her degree in Marketing with a Minor in Fashion Merchandising from West Texas A&M University. With years of experience in image consulting, styling, marketing, and fashion merchandising, Smith began Bureau of Style, a then online clothing boutique, in the Summer of 2022.

Smith reminisced about her journey leading up to creating her own boutique.

“Owning a boutique is something I always wanted to do,” Smith said. “I love fashion so much. I even used to have a fashion blog called “Pieces of Ash”.”

The clothing in Bureau of Style is curated around Smith’s interests, feminine clothes with ruffles, lace, and lively colors. The boutique carries a variety of dresses, rompers, jumpsuits, sweaters, coats, denim, jewelry, and accessories. From florals to pastels to plaid colors, the Bureau of Style has clothes for women with different aesthetics.

“I curate my boutique with clothes that are trendy and that can be used as wardrobe staples,” Smith said.

Smith explained her desire to open her storefront in Pampa.

“I did a pop-up store in downtown just to see if Pampa would take well to Bureau of Style,” Smith said “I started looking for a storefront here in November of 2022. I like having an online boutique but I felt like people needed to see my clothes in person.”

Smith highlighted the benefit of having people view her clothes in person.

“I noticed it was a big thing. Women like to come in, feel the fabric of the clothes, try it on, and see how it fits on them,” Smith said. “They like to see the quality and color in person.”

After searching for the ideal location, Smith chose a location that would highlight her boutique: 1623 N. Hobart. The building, which formally housed the Sears Hometown Store, is being re-purposed into separate sales spaces.

“I will be renting out a third of the building,” Smith said. “It’s a good size space for the Bureau of Style. It has beautiful big windows that will show off the clothes well.”

Smith plans to open the Bureau of Style’s storefront in late April.

Smith expresses her sincerest gratitude for the support she has received.

“My mother-in-law, Autumn Smith, is one of my biggest supporters here. She’s very stylish and she thought my clothes would do well here,” Smith said. “My father-in-law, J.T. Smith, supports me too. My husband, Ian Smith, has been a very big supporter of mine as well. He will do anything to help me.”
