A Sunray man was killed in a hit-and-run 10 miles south of Stratford just after midnight Saturday morning.
At 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 was legally parked on the northbound improved shoulder of United States Highway 287. Lauro Escobar, 35, Sunray, was attempting to change a flat tire when an unknown vehicle failed to maintain a single lane and struck him.
The driver of the unknown vehicle did not stop at the scene and has not been located.
