Tanya Renee Ibarra

Tanya Renee Ibarra, 48 years of age, succumbed to esophageal cancer following a very difficult and heroic battle after being diagnosed on August 24, 2020 - only one week short of a year-long fight, as she passed away peacefully while surrounded in love and with family at her side Tuesday evening, August 17, 2021, at her home in Pampa.  She was born on June 12, 1973, in Groom, Texas to David Ladd and Texann Helfer.

Always considering Pampa as home, she lived here the majority of her life with the exception of several years when she lived in Las Vegas.  Since returning in 2008, she has been employed as a CNA at Pampa Nursing Center as well as doing home health work.  She had such an adoration for the elderly that her vigilant care was second nature as was the love she showered over them.  Not only was Tanya a caretaker in a work capacity, but in her everyday life, her servant’s heart just wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of and okay-even above her own needs most of the time.

Positively, unquestionably, without a shadow of doubt, no ifs, ands, or buts – she absolutely loved her family!  Tanya took great comfort in being with her family and helping in any way she could with anything requiring some help.  The fact that she was quite loving and even more fun, made her the “favorite” aunt to many of her nieces and nephews.

On August 2, 2021, Tanya gave Armando Ibarra the best birthday gift he could have wished for as she married her best friend and soulmate, and they were able to spend 16 days together as Mr. and Mrs. Ibarra.  He never left her side and ultimately bestowed the loving care she normally gave to others, onto her.

Tanya was welcomed with open arms at heaven’s gates by her maternal grandparents, Jim and Barbara Estep; paternal grandparents, Howard and Sandy Shouse and her brother, Chris Shouse who just recently passed away two months earlier on June 21, 2021.

Those left here to remember her shimmering eyes and radiant smile are her husband, Armando Ibarra of Pampa; father, David Ladd of Amarillo; mother, Texann Dietz of Pampa; bonus parents, Bill Shouse and wife Cristy of Pampa; mother-in-law, Elvia Perkins of EL Paso, TX; siblings, Chad Bowels of Pampa, Jennifer Foster and husband Richard of McAlester, OK, Brenda Northcutt of Alaska, Jennifer Chavez of Amarillo, Eric Ballew and wife April of Pampa; sister in heart, Linda Shouse of Pampa; her brother Chris’s fiancé, Francia Gayton of Pampa and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many loving friends.  We will love you forever, Tanya and you will always remain in our hearts!

Should you wish to make a donation in honor of Tanya, the family suggests they be made to the American Cancer Society, 1300 Summit Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76102.

Celebration of Life Memorial Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Jamisen Hancock officiating.  The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
