Texas DPS aiding GCSO in Wednesday shooting investigation

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Gray County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Texas Rangers with an aggravated assault investigation. 

The call to GCSO was in front of The Zone Bowling Center, 1401 S. Hobart, for gunshot wounds at 

A male and a female were both injured. The male victim suffered life-threatening injuries. The female victim was  treated and released. 

As a result of the ongoing investigation, two suspects were identified as Michael Ward, 30, and Stormy Davis, 30, both of Amarillo. Ward and Davis were arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Gray County Jail.  

The suspects are currently in custody in the Gray County Jail on a $500,000 bond. Due to the active and ongoing investigation, no further details are available at this time.
