Texas Panhandle-area utility customers have access to utility assistance funds

AMARILLO, Texas (Dec. 3, 2021) – Utility customers in the Texas Panhandle, including Xcel Energy customers, are encouraged to contact Panhandle Community Services in the coming days to apply for utility bill assistance if they are unable to pay their utility bills.

PCS, which serves the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle, is temporarily waiving the requirement for in-person appointments to qualify area residents for utility assistance. Through Dec. 7, utility customers seeking assistance can simply fill out an application form and return it to PCS for consideration. Funds will still be available after Dec. 7, but utility customers would need to schedule an appointment to discuss their needs with a PCS agent.

Utility customers will need to pick up an application form at any one of PCS’s 14 regional offices, or contact PCS to have a form mailed, faxed or emailed to their residence. For more information contact PCS at 1-855-459-3714 or visit pcsvcs.org.

Xcel Energy customers can also discuss payment arrangements with Xcel Energy customer service agents by calling Xcel Energy at 1-800-895-4999.
