The Harbor Event Expo

This Sunday, February 19th The Harbor Event Center will be hosting an expo event to showcase vendors in Pampa that specialize in parties of all shorts. At the expo, there will be over 19 vendors ranging from photographers to hair and makeup services.

“Our venue is still new, so we want to use this event to showcase our venue but also what all we have in Pampa as far as event vendors go,” Owner, Brad Pingel said. “Sunday we’ll have photographers, videographers, cake and cookie makers, hair and makeup, photo booths, dj’s and event planners and decorators. But they’re all local, to show people of Pampa what Pampa has for those event needs.”
For the edible aspect, there will be samples available for guests to take, but with the other services they’ll display work done and what they can do. The reasoning was to help these vendors get their business out there and in more peoples minds when they are hosting a gathering or a party.

“We want the people of Pampa to see that we have those tools and things you’d need to plan a party right here,” Pingel said. “You don’t have to go looking out of town for these things, we’re giving the local vendors a chance to showcase that they can do everything you’d need for any type of event.”

The Harbor posted to Facebook announcing the upcoming event, and the vendors wanting to participate poured in. The event is free, both for the public but also for the vendors. It’s a come-and-go event, starting at 2 pm and ending at 5.

“There is a variety of things on showcase,” Pingel said.

The Harbor has hosted many events in the short time it’s been open, but coming up quickly on the horizon for the event center is ‘Pampa Mom Prom.’

“Mom Prom was an event I saw happen in Amarillo but something I wanted to bring here,” Dakota Kenney said. “It’s a night out for women 21 and up, to just enjoy a night of dancing and eating great foods. But the reason for bringing this here is because it also is a fund raiser for scholarships towards female leaders at our local high schools.”

The night will consist of dancing and a silent auction, and raffles. To fuel into the fund raiser, guests can pay to enter into the ‘Prom Queen’ category to have a chance at being chosen. But they will also host events for guest to sign up for, like tackiest dress or biggest hair.

“We wanted to do something fun so the women that sign up for prom queen we have some games planned for them to participate in at a chance of wining,” Kenney said. “But the other two categories are by sign-up only so people can go all out if they want to win that.”

The event is February 25th from 7 pm till 11. Tickets can be purchased at Sweet T’s.

The Harbor Event Expo is this Sunday, starting at 2, open to the public and will hopefully show event goers what all they have access too right here in Pampa.
