The Pampa News’ Greatest Love Story Contest winner: Starbuck

Posted

I’m a little late in the game entering, but I need to tell you my story anyway.

Back in the late 80’s, I spotted him in the daily trips I made to the post office for my employer.

Red pickup, starched jeans, button down, and cowboy boots, with the occasional cowboy hat. Who could miss that?

He had spotted me too, but being a car guy, he spotted my gray Oldsmobile before he matched the girl with the car.

Once we spoke to each other, I began planning my trips to the post office when I thought he would be there, just so I could say hello.

He was doing the same thing.

The guys that worked the Post office windows even got in on the game, updating us if the other had been there yet or not.

Long story short; we dated, he asked me to marry him AT the POST OFFICE one evening, and we got married in 1988.

Now 31 years later, we have had a great life filled with adventure, sadness, happiness, but most of all love and dedication to each other. We have a wonderful family, and I don’t know how I could do life without him.

He is God’s blessing in my life.

Happy Valentines Day!

No votes or lots, I am still the winner.

The Pampa News would like to congratulate the Starbucks and wish them a Happy Valentine’s Day.
