The Twentieth Century Cotillion Study Club will hold their annual Christmas Tour of Homes from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5.
There are three homes on the Tour, and tickets for the event are $10.
Proceeds from the event go toward The Opportunity Plan, Inc., which is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide financial assistance to students in post-secondary educational programs.
The following homes are on the Tour:
1601 Mary Ellen St. – Todd and Jona Little
Todd and Jona Little bought their home in 2011. The home was originally built in the late 1940’S and has had several additions and renovations over the years. The home was built by a local civic club and raffle tickets were sold to win the house. A local rancher won the house in the raffle but never lived in it.
The house had several subsequent homeowners before Greg Dalton purchased the house in 1976. The original floor plan of the home was 1200 square feet and the Dalton’s doubled the size of the home with extensive renovations throughout the years. Their renovations included the addition of a second story with master bed and bath, bricking the exterior, adding a library with an antique oak mantel and creating a custom-made leaded glass front door.
Dr. Robert and Marcia Julian purchased the home in 1992. Upon purchasing the home, the Julian’s added an in-ground swimming pool, two covered deck porch areas in the back yard and enclosed the second story covered porch to create an office/exercise room. A few years later the Julian’s added the home’s south side addition that included a bedroom and bathroom as well as adding additional storage to other bedrooms, a full wet bar, sauna and modern windows throughout.
The Little’s have made a few renovations since living in the home that include the renovation of the staircase in 2018, updating the kitchen and laundry room cabinets in 2020 and completing a pool and deck renovation this summer.
2533 Aspen Drive – Owned by Jan Lunn
This beautiful home was built by I. B. Tinney for Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bell in 1970. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hipkins purchased the home in 1979 and performed extensive renovation at that time including removing walls to create a more open flow. Later the Hipkins’ added the sunroom, patio, and landscaping. Following Mr. Hipkins death in 2005, Mrs. Hipkins enlarged the master bedroom and bath. When Mrs. Hipkins passed away in 2015, her daughter Janice Porter and husband Lee, maintained the property until Jan Lunn, from Topeka, Kansas, purchased the home in 2019 following her husband’s death. Jan wanted to be closer to her sister, Sara Wheeley, her husband Joe, and their children.
While the home was in wonderful condition, Jan has remodeled a bathroom, bar, added windows, doors, new landscaping and hardscapes. With the help of Angela Porter (Ms. Hipkins’ granddaughter) and the B & G Floral and Gifts team, Jan’s ideas and Angela’s creativity have combined to create a magical and exquisite Christmas wonderland to share with the Pampa community. Jan and her extended Wheeley family, accompanied by the families of Angela Porter, B&G Floral, and Janice Porter invite you to tour the “Hipkins home” as we share Christmas blessings to all.
2305 Comanche - Richard and Tiffany Qualls
Richard and Tiffany Qualls purchased their 1967 ranch style home in October of 2005. Their passion for renovating began almost immediately when five weeks after moving in they found out they were expecting and Tiffany began to “nest”. Thus began years of updating and renovating. An addition was built which included a master bath, an additional half bath, a great room with vaulted ceilings, and a covered patio. Every room has been redone in some way with Richard using his extensive skills to bring life to Tiffany’s creative ideas and designs. Richard, Tiffany, and Rylan would like to wish God’s blessings to everyone this season as we celebrate Christ’s birth. Merry Christmas!
