Two from Dimmitt were killed in a Thursday morning crash 18 miles northeast of Hereford.

At 7 a.m. about 18 miles northeast of Hereford on Farm-to-Market 809, a 1992 Dodge Dynasty, driven by Francisco-Oliver Cabrales, 19, Dimmitt, was driving north on FM 809.

A 2009 Ford F-150, driven by Chad Perry, 33, Amarillo, was driving south of FM 809. The Dynasty turned left into a business and into the path of the F-150. The F-150 struck the vehicle on it’s passenger side causing both vehicles to travel into the west barrow ditch.

The Dynasty came to a rest upside down in the west barrow ditch with significant passenger side damage.

The F-150 came to a rest on its driver side in the west barrow ditch.

Cabrales and his passenger, Josue Quiroz, 26, Dimmitt, were pronounced dead at the scene by Deaf Smith County Justice of the Peace, Karen Boren.

Perry was transported by a family member to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital where he was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.  Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators findings.
