An Amarillo man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover on Sunday after midnight 15 miles north of Amarillo on U.S. Highway 87.
At 12:30 a.m., a 2002 Chevrolet 2500, Baudelio Rodriguez, Jr., 43, Amarillo, pick-up truck was driving north on U.S. 87 approaching a curve in the roadway.
The driver didn’t follow the roadway through the curve and veered into the center median where it struck the guardrail. The truck rolled over multiple times and ejected the unsecured driver before coming to a rest in the northbound lanes with its wheels facing south.
The crash remains under investigation by Texas DPS. Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators findings.
