Vicki Jean Blackmon

Vicki Jean Blackmon, 68 years old, of Pampa, peacefully left this life and entered into eternity on Thursday, December 3, 2020 in Amarillo with her family by her side. She was born on June 14, 1952 in Pampa, Texas to Junior and Jean Ellis.

She graduated from Pampa High School and married Harold Dean “Deanie” Blackmon on December 11, 1970. She was employed by Pampa Independent School District for 25 years, working as Cafeteria Manager for the last 20. She currently served at Lamar Elementary where the students and staff affectionately referred to her as Ms. Vicki. Having been blessed with the ability to cook as well as the passion for it, Vicki enjoyed ministering to others through her food. One not to seek attention or praise, Vicki could remain behind the scenes as she cooked her heart out for various groups, clubs, organizations, and fundraisers over many years.

She was an active member of Hobart Baptist Church, and cherished her church family. Vicki enjoyed traveling, but especially treasured her time in the mountains with her family and friends. Never one to be idle, she loved crafting, shopping, and attending Christian concerts. Vicki took great joy in giving gifts, and would generously give her time and money to benefit others.

She adored her sons Shawn and Josh, and affectionately referred to her daughter-in-law Courtney as the daughter she never had. However, absolutely nothing compared to her love and adoration for her grandbabies!

Those waiting for her inside Heaven’s pearly gates are her parents, Junior and Jean Ellis; husband, Deanie Blackmon; sister, JoLynn Vise and brother, Terry Ellis.

Left here to carry on her memories are her two boys, Shawn Blackmon of Pampa, Josh Blackmon and wife Courtney of Pampa; sister, Rita Molar and husband Wayne of Pampa; four grandchildren, Joey, Jarrod, Vinny, and Adilee; numerous nieces, nephews, and her Lamar Elementary Family.

Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020 at Hobart Baptist Church with Brother Mike Watson officiating. Cremation will follow her services. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Vicki will be available to pay last respects on Wednesday, December 9th from noon to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Gathering of Family and Friends Visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Winegeart Funeral Home.

Should donations in honor of Vicki be a preference, the family suggests they be made to Hobart Baptist Church, 1100 West Crawford Street, Pampa, Texas 79065.
