Viola Ward, 92, formerly of Pampa, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 in Italy, Texas.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Andy Dietz, pastor of First Baptist Church of Groom, officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Viola was born in Elk City, OK to Hugh and Vallie Smith and was reared in Carter, Oklahoma. Viola married Kenneth Ward on August 27, 1945 in Sayer, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on September 3, 2012.  Viola cherished a 67 marriage with Kenneth. They were members of Central Baptist Church in Pampa and it was an important part of her life. They lived in Pampa for 53 years until 2009 when they moved to the DFW area to be close to her children.

Viola enjoyed people. She loved to have guests over to eat, play games or just visit. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and visiting friends and family in their motor home. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by parents.

Viola is survived by 2 sons, Lonnie Ward and wife Cherryl and Marvin Ward and wife Martha, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many loving extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00-7:30 PM.
