William “Fat Boy” Joslyn, 77, of Lefors, passed away on August 29, 2024, at his home.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, TX with Johnny Crawford, his nephew, officiating. 

Burial and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

He will be available for viewing from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Fat Boy was born on October 13, 1946, in Wheeler, County to Frank and Frankie Joslyn. He grew up in Kelton where he later graduated. 

After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. 

After serving his country, he returned to the Wheeler County area where he began work in the oil & gas industry, specializing as an industrial mechanic. During his occupational tenure, was employed at Flint Engineering, Brownfield, and Entera.

In 1986, he moved to Lefors and has remained until his passing. 

Fat Boy liked to garden, fish, but most of all, he liked to fire up his cooker so he could BBQ and host all of his family and friends. 

He will be remembered as a hardworking and loving man who always put others before himself. Fat Boy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Nancy Alice, Mary Ella, and Helen Crawford; two brothers, Olen Ray Joslyn, and Sydney (Sid) Dewite Joslyn.

Fat boy is survived by his three daughters, Nancy A. Finney and husband Barry of Pampa, Alta May Cockrell and husband Todd of Colorado, Meagan Joslyn and wife Meghann of Brownwood; two brothers, David Allen Joslyn, and Jim Franklin Joslyn; six grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
