William “Kent” Vise

William “Kent” Vise, 60, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Wheeler with Pastor Mike Dickey, Coulter Road Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler. There will be a memorial service for Amarillo-area residents on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Coulter Road Baptist Church in Amarillo at 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Vise was born May 1, 1961 in Wellington, Texas to John C. and Rosemary Vise. Kent was a 1979 graduate of Wheeler High School where he was a state champion football player. Kent was a longtime farmer and rancher until his retirement in 2009. After retirement, he moved to Canyon and enjoyed meeting with friends and family. Kent was a member of Paramount Baptist Church where he was baptized on May 30, 2021. He made sure that everyone knew about the faith and hope only found in Jesus Christ.

Kent was preceded in death by his son, Will Vise, mother and father, Rosemary and John C. Vise, late wife, Jo Lynn Vise, two brothers, Johnny Lynn and Gary Robert Vise, and sister-in-law, Donna Vise. He is survived by two children, Madison Vise of Canyon and Kelby Vise with wife Alayna of Big Spring; one brother, James Vise of Wheeler; daughter in-law, Amberlynn Vise-Wall; one nephew, four grandchildren, and several cousins.
