This weekend the Pampa Junior High tennis team competed in the Rebel Tennis Center Master’s Middle School tennis tournament. In girls singles Jessica Gooch took second place and in boys singles Chae Ward took second place. Next weekend the tennis team will compete in a tournament sponsored by Randall High School.

The Pampa Lady Harvester soccer team met at Briarwood Church on Monday night to celebrate their season. A season in which they went 9-11-5. The meal was catered by Desperados BBQ.

Hustlin’ Harvesters put wraps on 20-win season
Pampa girls golf at regionals. The Pampa girls golf team competed at regionals this week. Gracie Little shot an 89 and 85 for 174. Sarah Gordzelik shot an 89 and 101 for 190. Alli Hampton shot a 96 and 97 for 193. Adeline Little shot a 105 and 107 for 212. London Blackburn shot 113 and 108 for 221. Pampa’s team totals were 379 and 390 for a total of 769. They are pictured with head coach Brian Poynor and assistant coach, Gene Valentine. Valentine is retiring after this school year and this was his last sporting event to be a coach for with Pampa ISD.

Eighth grade girls win the junior high District Track Championship
Above, Amy Hammer and Pat Stewart, a volunteer for Special Olympics. The 10th Annual Cindy Cooper Special Olympics Golf Scramble will be held next Saturday, April 23 at Hidden Hills golf course. The event was moved due to projected rain today. The event is named for Cindy Cooper who was head of delegation for the Pampa Special Olympics for many years and loved by everyone. Cindy passed away 11 years ago from cancer and this fundraiser held in her honor gives back to the special athletes competing in golf, bowling, basketball and track. The scramble begins at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $200 per team or $50 per person. This price includes a cart, green fees and lunch. Prizes will be awarded in each flight. A drawing for lots of prizes will be held at the end of the scramble. For more information and to sign up call Hidden Hills golf course 669-5866.
