James “Jimmy” Hollingwood, 65, of Pampa, passed away on April 6, 2024, in Amarillo.

Arrangements are pending with Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

James was born on April 5, 1959, in Pampa to Jim and Rosalee Hollingwood.

He grew up and graduated from school in Pampa. Following high school, he enrolled into college and attended Oklahoma State University. 

After college, James started his long career in the food service industry that covered both Oklahoma and the state of Washington.

He worked for several years in the catering business in Tulsa, and he managed a kitchen and restaurant retail outlet in Seattle. 

While living in Tulsa, he married Karen Duensing in 1999 and they shared each other’s love and companionship until she preceded him in death in 2004.

James was a caregiver by heart, and he spent several years helping with several family members’ illnesses that included his grandmother, his wife, his mother, and his father. 

In 2023, he settled back in Pampa permanently to be closer to family. 

James was a private man who kept to himself, but he enjoyed playing computer games and loving his cats. 

He will be missed by those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and other extended family.

His survivors include his stepmother, Nancy Hollingwood of the Pampa; three stepbrothers, John Allen, Bill Allen and wife Jodi, and Ross Allen and wife Tammi, all of Pampa; a stepsister, Shannon Jochetz and husband Mike of Krum; and other extended family.
