Ronald Dean Coffee

Ronald Dean Coffee, 83, of Suwanee, Georgia, passed away on February 27, 2024. Born on February 29, 1940, in Amarillo, Texas to George and Viola Coffee. Ron was a loving husband and dedicated father, who will be remembered as a lifelong learner, an avid traveler and a gracious host. 

Ron leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance to his surviving children: Lance Coffee (Amy), Kent Coffee (Susan), and Emily Coffee Reynolds (Bill). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Scott, Ansley, Luke Reynolds, Phoenix Coffee, Emily and Elizabeth Bacik, Kate and Patrick Coffee. Ron also leaves behind his beloved caregiver, Audrey Walton. Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Coffee, in 2004 and his daughter, Gwendolyn Coffee in 1969.

Education was a lifelong pursuit from his first college degree to his second college degree to additional coursework and continuing education and returning to college to earn his master’s degree later in his career. Ron received his BBA in Marketing from Texas Tech University, BBA in Management from Southern Methodist University, his MBA in Technical Management from the University of Phoenix, a Mini-MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance, and took other course work from Rice University and the University of Texas at Dallas.  Ron belonged to the fraternities of Kappa Alpha Order and Alpha Phi Omega.

Ron served with honor for 8 years in the Texas National Guard, 474th Field Artillery Btn., 36th Infantry Division, and 49th Armored Division of the US Army. He had a successful career, retiring from Sears in 1980 and AT&T in February 2002. Ron continued to pursue farming interests in Lamb County, Texas, and Carson County, Texas.

Ron found solace in worship at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church and Johns Creek United Methodist Church for as long as he was able to attend. His hobby of traveling and hosting parties allowed him to explore the world and create lasting memories. 

There will be a graveside service at the White Deer Cemetery in White Deer, Texas on April 5, 2024 at 11:00 am. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stephen Ministries or the Pat Coffee Memorial Library at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church.

May Ron Coffee’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration for all who knew him.
