Sue Williams Jones, 65, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Sue was born on January 30, 1959 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Tom Henry and Lily Jane Baxter Williams. 

She was raised in Texas and attended school in Waxahachie. 

Sue moved to Pampa in 1982, where she resided until her passing. 

She met Victor Jones in 1987 and the two were married on September 15, 1995. They were together until his passing in 2006.

Sue was a caregiver by nature and spent several years caring for her clients. She retired in 2010, but never really stopped caring for others. 

Sue enjoyed going to casinos, playing football squares, and watching college softball. She also enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows like Chicago Fire and Chicago, The Waltons, and Little House on the Prairie. 

Sue the backbone of her family, she took great pride in loving her family. She would spend hours planning and preparing big family meals. Sue was a great cook and truly

loved feeding her people. 

She was brutally honest and didn’t mind dishing out some tough love. Sue was also kind and loving, her home was always open to anyone that needed a safe place to land.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lily Williams; her husband, Victor Jones; two brothers, Tommy and Jerry Williams; and one grandson, Randall Jones.

Sue is survived by her seven children, Edward Hasty, Patricia Jones, Ronnie Jones, Sammy Bradford, and Amanda Jenkins all of Pampa, Rickey Vaugh of Healdton, Oklahoma and Richard Jones of Amarillo; three siblings, Billy Williams, Patty Schoffner, and Janie Ford all of Pampa; 17 grandchildren, Victor Jones, Apollonia Jones, Jennifer Jones, Seger Jones, Ashley Smith, Jo Lynn Mears, Brooklyn Brown, Kaydance Vaughn, Shelby Vaughn, Serenity Bradford, Laney Vaughn, Kenzleigh Zion, TJ Williams, Jerry Williams, Trenton Williams, Haven Jenkins, and Jayden Jenkins; eight nieces and nephews, Chelsea Williams, Tom Williams, Marie Scott, Chloe Ford, Elizabeth Harris, Mark Harris, Tommie Abernathy, and Patty Ann Williams; her good friend, Rick Jennings; and numerous other family members and friends.
