Albert Clifford Maggard, age 90, passed away on September 12, 2026.
He was born on July 2, 1936, to Bertha Grace Tosh and Frank Maggard, who nurtured in him a deep love for faith, family, and learning.
Albert married the love of his life, Mary Naomi Harbert, on October 16, 1956, in Springfield, Colorado, beginning a lifelong partnership built on devotion, purpose, and grace. He later earned his bachelor’s degree, further fueling his passion for teaching and sharing God’s word.
From a young age, Albert embodied the heart of a pastor. As a boy, he held revival meetings wherever he could, and he continued spreading the gospel faithfully until his college years and beyond. Caring for his flock was not just his calling, it was the very essence of who he was.
In 1965, Albert and Mary moved their young family to Pampa, where he became Pastor of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Pampa. Together, they poured their hearts into the congregation — Albert faithfully preaching and shepherding his flock, while Mary supported the ministry through music, teaching Sunday School, and both leading women’s and men’s outreach programs. Their partnership in ministry touched countless lives and strengthened the spiritual foundation of the community.
After 58 years of loyal service, Albert and Mary retired in December 2023, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering devotion, compassion, and steadfast faith. Their years of ministry stand as a testament to their love for God and their deep commitment to the people they served.
In the early years of his ministry, Albert worked “second jobs” in Pampa at a meat processing plant, Montgomery Ward, and Texas Furniture. Albert found joy in simple, meaningful things: reading, flower gardening, and landscaping his backyard, creating spaces that reflected beauty and peace. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Being called “G-pa” and “Grandpa” was a title he cherished deeply, and he poured love, wisdom, and encouragement into every moment shared with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
If memorials are preferred, the family suggests donations be made in Albert’s honor to his church home, First Pentecostal Holiness Church, c/o Ron Noble 2501 Mary Ellen Street, Pampa, TX 79065.
Albert’s legacy is one of faith lived boldly, love given freely, and a life dedicated to guiding others toward hope. He will be remembered with gratitude by all who were blessed to know him.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents; wife, Mary Naomi Maggard; siblings, Beulah Maggard Hill, Mozell Maggard Mosier, Robert Maggard, Ethel Maggard, Iva Ruth Maggard, Gilbert Maggard; his son-in-law, Roger Baldwin; and a grandson-in-law, James Workman.
