Ariah Michelle Jefferson

Posted

In her mothers embrace, our sweet, precious Ariah passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, after a 3 ½ year long battle with cancer. Ariah Michelle Jefferson was born on July 10, 2014.

The long list of diagnosis Ariah acquired in her short life provides for numerous surgeries and lengthy hospital stays, where she made major impacts on doctors and nurses across Texas and Oklahoma.  Though Ariah has endured so much, she would smile through it all.  That smile let us know just how much she loved us.  Ariah also loved her movies and would watch them on repeat daily.  The joy she would get from watching them was infectious.  Ariah’s favorite thing to do was to look at the lights displayed around her room and on the ceiling while her mom sang lullabies – “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” was her favorite one.  Ariah was so strong, and she fought until the very end.  The strength, beauty, willpower, perseverance, and determination are truly admirable and will never be forgotten.

Ariah was greeted into Heaven with arms wide open by her great-great-grandmothers, Imogene Adams and Joyzelle McIntire Potts and a cousin, Keely Downs.

Those remaining to cherish the nine precious years they shared with her are her momma, April Newsome and Patrick Meche of Elk City, OK; her dad, Kelvin Jefferson of Florida; maternal grandmother, Michelle Luster of Pampa; maternal grandfather, Wade Newsome and wife Lizz of Tennessee; paternal grandfather, Earley Glover of Florida; maternal great-grandmothers, Jan Woods and husband DC Woods of Skellytown, Pat Newsome of Pampa; uncles, Tyler Luster and Ashley Solis, Braxton Luster all of Pampa; stepsister, Baylee Meche of Elk City; great aunts, Sheila Helms of Pampa, Samantha Gassen and husband Matthew of Azle, TX and numerous cousins as well as extended family that already miss her amazing smile.
