The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

Barbara was born on March 9, 1947 in Floydada to Carl and Morene Ebbs Chandler. She was raised on a farm between Kress and Tulia. Barbara left high school at 17 to attend beauty school in Plainview with her best friend, Barbara. She began working as a hairdresser at 18 years old and continued to do so for over 50 years. Two of Barbara’s first clients were Jimmy Dean and his mother. After she retired, Barbara continued to cut hair at Meredith Place. She served her last client in 2018.

Barbara married Ralph Tice on November 27, 1965 in Plainview. He passed away on March 25, 2017. They moved to White Deer shortly after marrying. Barbara and Ralph later moved to Pampa and eventually to Skellytown in 1972, where they made their forever home. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church in Skellytown. She enjoyed riding horses and often rode in parades during her younger years. Barbara loved all animals, especially horses and dogs. She was never without a pet dog growing up. Barbara also enjoyed visiting with just about anyone. She would try to take interest in what other people enjoyed so she could talk to them about those things, and it was all the better if they happened to love animals too.

Barbara also loved to cook for her family and would always make enough to feed several armies. She taught her children everything she knew about cooking, and they occasionally taught her a few things too. Barbara adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending all the time she could with them. She will always be remembered for her beautiful red hair and kind heart.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Morene Chandler; her husband, Ralph Tice; and two sisters, Carol Peterson and Kathy White.

She is survived by her four sons, Kent Tice of Borger, Keith Tice and wife Nicki of Anthem, Arizona, Ed Tice and wife Emily of Story City, Iowa, and Brandon Tice and wife Deidre of Stinnett; eight grandchildren, Taylor Tice, Kyler Tice, Karson Tice, Kinley Tice, Reilly Tice, Addison Tice, Hannah Tice, and Mason Tice; two great-grandchildren, Blakely Brown and Beckham Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hansford County Hospice, 707 Roland St, Spearman, Texas, 79801.
