Carl Sissom, 89, of Pampa, passed away on March 21, 2022 in Borger.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2022 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Carl was born June 26, 1932 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Edward and Oma Sissom.  He grew up in the Texas panhandle, living in several communities.  Carl enlisted in the US Marine Corps right out of high school. He served form 1950 until 1956.  After his military career, he worked for Aero Jet for several years in California.  Carl was an instrument tech for a geological surveyor from 1961 until 1976.  In 1976, he moved to Pampa where he was a longtime member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966.  He married Louise Patterson on September 8, 1985 in Pampa.  Carl loved to paint and listen to country music.  He was a cowboy at heart. Carl worked on a ranches in Wyoming and Montana with his brother, Charlie, for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; 2 sisters, Ann Brooks and Amy Freudenrich; 4 brothers, Charley Sissom, Edward Sissom, Harold Sissom, and Leroy Sissom.

Carl is survived by his 3 sisters, Wanda Parker and husband Richard of Highland Springs, Sue Ruffin of Grand Prairie, and Darlo Pebley of California; and 1 brother, Ray Sissom and wife Deana of Pampa.
