A burial will follow at 2:00 PM at the Ochiltree Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM, Friday at the funeral home.

Coy was born on July 29, 1969, in Perryton to Gary and Kenda Maddox.

He grew up and later graduated school in Perryton.

In 1989, Coy came to Pampa to go to work in the oil & gas industry.

He worked for many years for Leonard Hudson drilling and Unit drilling.

As time went on, Coy gained a lot of experience and he became an invaluable coworker who imparted much wisdom to others and became a mentor to many.

In 2015, he began dating Josie, and they would spend several years showing each other love and sharing their families with one another.

Later in 2023, they married on February 18.

In his spare time, he liked to fish, read, and compete in Demolition Derby competitions individually, and with his daughters.

Coy also appreciated riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with Josie when the weather was good.

Most importantly, Coy was a family man who wanted to share time with all of his family, especially his grandchildren as much as he could.

Above all, he had a big heart, cared for all of his friends, and he never met a stranger.

Coy will be greatly missed by all those who love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Verla and Ted Seemann; paternal grandparents, Edna Mae Major and Gene Maddox; Uncle Bear Seemann; Aunt Kaylynn Anderson; and a son-in-law, Tony Beebe.

Coy is survived by his wife, Josie Maddox of the home; two daughters, Kandice Norris of Pampa, and Kaley Casas and husband Robert of Pampa; a son, Joe Johnson of Amarillo; two sisters, Tanis Gamble and husband Troy of San Antonio, and Kristi Baley of Dallas; brother, Toby Maddox and wife Christy of Perryton; grandchildren, Jathan, Brooklyn, Braelyn, Robert Jr., Presley, Foster, Tony, one-on-the-way, Taylor, Mario Jr., Marilee, Julian, Sofia, Sarai, and one-on-the-way, Gideon Nash; two uncles, James Seeman of Pampa, and Dennis Maddox and wife Jan of Norman; two stepdaughters, Jenny Arenas and husband Sinjin of Amarillo, and Jamie Villalon and husband Mario of Pampa; and other extended family.
