Dale Forrest Garner, 76, of Pampa, Texas, passed from this life into eternal rest on Friday, August 14, 2026, with his family surrounding him in love.

He was born on January 8, 1950, in Pearland, Texas to Calvin and Nell Garner.

Following his graduation from Pearland High School, Dale went on to work for Phillips Petroleum for 25 years in the capacity of mechanic. He began this journey in Houston and then it moved him to Norman, Oklahoma before finally landing him in Pampa. An unexpected change in plans led him to employment with Pantex as a Production Technician and after 16 years, he retired in 2012.

Dale was an avid golfer and even named his ranch the 3 Par Ranch after a small golf course he built and maintained hidden amidst the foliage of the ranch land. When not golfing, he could be found behind the lens of a camera capturing the surrounding landscape, the everyday ongoings of life all around him in nature, closeups of beautiful flowers, or savoring memories of his loved ones.

Family gatherings, bar-b-que’s and any other reason to get together were absolutes in Dale’s life as he thoroughly loved his children and grandchildren – we mustn’t forget his cats too! He had a special talent of being able to form quirky animals and birds from old scraps of rebar for no other reason than to give away to his friends and loved ones. Each Christmas, those who received his hand-drawn cards looked forward to the personal greeting inside and to seeing what his imagination had brought to life through his special little character.

Dale was an example of an easy-going spirit and king, giving soul. He wanted nothing more than to see others happy. So much so that he donated his eyes so that hopefully in his generosity, someone else could see happiness through his eyes as well! He was a very good man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him and were made better for it.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His appreciation of the outdoors and endless love for his family will forever be cherished by his wife, Phillis Garner of Pampa; his five children, Ally Garner, Carmen Contreras and wife Deana, Carri Hardin and husband Tim, Terri Ann Contreras, Cameron Contreras and wife Christina all of Amarillo; two brothers, Leon Garner and wife Sally of Pearland, TX, Derrell Garner and wife Linda of Beeville, TX; a sister, Carolyn McCoy of Pearland, TX; nine grandchildren, Blaine, Tabitha, Tyler, Jonah, Emilia, Mya, Michael Jaden, Evangeline, Kenyzie; five great-grandchildren, Journey, Piper, Liza Grace, Addy and Cecil not to mention his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members who he loved dearly.

Should donations be preferred, the family suggests they be made to Tralee Crisis Center, P.O. Box 2880, Pampa, TX 79066-2880 in honor of Dale.

The family will be available to receive guests on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 6 to 8pm, at Winegeart Funeral Home in the Serenity Chapel.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in the Serenity Chapel at Winegeart Funeral Home, with Pastor Jimmye Cole officiating.
