Dan Allen Hickerson

Dan Allen Hickerson, 65 years of age, of Skellytown, Texas, entered into rest at his home on Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was born on January 8, 1958, to Burl and Louise Hickerson in Frederick, Oklahoma.

After attending school in Folsom, California, Dan found his talents in plumbing. He worked as a plumber for Sawatzky Construction for several years which eventually transferred him to Pampa. Venturing out on his own, Dan enjoyed being his own boss for about 35 years. During this time, it was not uncommon for him to donate his services to many in need – especially the elderly. As he aged and his health became a concern, he retired from being self-employed, but his drive to work wouldn’t rest and he hired on with Amarillo Independent School District.

Described as a man of many colors, Dan loved to not only work, but help out in any capacity he could. He never met a stranger and was an amazing storyteller. He always had a colorful tale from his past, and the older he got, the taller his tales became!

Definitely a one-of-a-kind fella, Dan certainly had a big heart of gold and will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was greeted into Heaven by his dad, Burl Hickerson; a father-in-law, Tim Lesher and a sister-in-law, Deana Lesher.

Dan is survived by his wife of seven years, Katrina Lesher of Pampa; his mother, Louise Hickerson of Skellytown; two sons, Mike Hickerson and wife Catherine of Panhandle, Tim Hickerson and wife Jordan Dreadin of Skellytown; two stepsons, Tim Davis and wife Kashian, Brad Davis and wife Destiny all of Pampa; two brothers, Burl Lynn Hickerson, Jr of Long Beach, CA, Ed Hickerson and wife Dolly of Pampa; sister-in-law, Tammy Mendoza and husband Mike of Pampa; grandchildren, Emily Hickerson, Serena Hickerson, Caleb Hickerson, Phoenix Hickerson as well as twelve more step-grands he considered his own; mother-in-law, Vickie Lesher of Pampa and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family Dan loved deeply.
