Dawna Hearon, 57, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 in Pampa.

Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Carmichael- Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor A.J. Taylor, pastor of New Horizon Community Fellowship, officiating. 

The burial will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2024 in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Dawna was born on September 10, 1966 in Pampa to Don and Jackie Shults.

She graduated from Phillips High School in 1985 and went to attend Clarendon College Nursing School. 

Dawna married Bo Hearon in 1988 and they have continued to remain great friends. 

In 1988, Dawn enlisted in the US Army and received an honorable discharge. 

When she was discharged, they returned to the Texas Panhandle to be able to spend time with family and friends. 

She helped raise many of her nieces and nephews over the years.

Dawna was a follower of Jesus Christ and she ministered to anyone who would listen. 

Her daily routine started with scripture readings and ended with scripture readings. 

She loved to study the bible, to share the love of Jesus, and be a strong prayer warrior for her friends and family. 

Dawna had a bubbly personality and was a joy to be around. 

When she had time, she loved to travel. 

Panda, her dog, was so special to her and helped her through some of her tough times. 

Celebrate Recovery was an important part of her life, and she was so proud of her accomplishment.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie Shults Simpson; her father Don Shults; bonus mom, Carolyn Shults; brother, Christopher James Homer; aunt, Margaret Milam.

Survivors include her seven sisters, Robin McCullough and husband Jake of Gruver, Cynthia Shults and Jennifer Floyd and husband Tony all of Hedley, Kristi Shults and husband Andy McFarland of Ithica, New York, Heather Simpson of Dallas, Heidi Klein of Mineola, Stacie Myers and husband Bill of Van; brother, Michael Don Shults and wife Marie of Springer, New Mexico; father, Jerry Simpson of Lefors; bonus mom, Mary Lou Beals of Van; cousins, Le Arnn of Pampa and Tom Milam and wife Jullie of Panhandle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to Celebrate Recovery or a favorite charity.
