Dorothy “Nanny” Lock, 89, of Lefors, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at her home.

Dorothy was born May 30, 1933 in Chillicothe, Texas to Morris and Maggie Brown. She graduated from Alanreed High School in 1952. Soon after graduation, she married the love of her life, Clayton Lock. They were married on May 31, 1952 in McLean and he passed away on March 26, 2013 after 60 years of marriage. They lived in a few different communities in their early years of marriage, settling in Lefors in 1969. Dorothy worked for several years at the bra factory in McLean and at Highland General Hospital in Pampa. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lefors. Dorothy was known as “Nanny” not only to her family but many others in Lefors. Her hobby was cleaning, she was known to vacuum and dust everyday at her house. She loved her family and especially loved following her grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their activities.
Dorothy was preceded in death by three sisters, Bea Brown, Willie Nicholas, and Betty Pringle; four brothers, Morris Brown, Herman Brown, JB Brown, and Richard Brown; son, Leonard Lock; three granddaughters, Hannah and Bailey Weatherly and Courtney Lock; and two angel great grandbabies and two angel great great grandbabies.
Survivors include her two sons, Dale Lock and wife Pam and Clay Lock and wife Tonya all of Lefors; a daughter, Stephanie Weatherly and husband Matt of Midland; two granddaughters, Shawna Frazier and husband Scott of Providence Village and Jennifer Shephard and husband Marcus of Lefors; a grandson, Len Lock and wife Valerie of Amarillo; 12 great grandchildren, Ashley Cruz and husband Oscar, Amber Shephard, Alana Seipel and husband Shad, Anthony Shephard, Avery Shephard, Adam Shephard, Taylor Rangel, Teagan Rangel, Ambrosia Lock, Aurora Lock, Braydon Weatherly, and Noah Frazier; four great great grandchildren, Zayne Ponce, Julian Retana, Matthew Cruz, and Nataleigh Cruz.
