Eddie “Ed” Pannell, Jr., of Briscoe, TX, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 in Briscoe at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 18 days.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Wheeler, TX, with Rev. Rodney Weatherly officiating.
Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery.
Viewing will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Robertson Funeral Directors in Wheeler.

Ed was born on March 31, 1942 in Wheeler, TX to the late Eddie John Pannell, Sr. and Gladys Standridge Pannell.
Upon graduating from high school in White Deer, TX, he attended Frank Phillips College in Borger, TX.
He then graduated from West Texas A&M University.
Ed married LaVenna Ruth on September 30, 1961.
She preceded him in death on November 16, 2021.
After college, Ed began his long career with the F.W. Woolworth Company. He worked many years as a store manager for them and traveled extensively to assist struggling stores.
Some of the places he worked over the years included Hutchinson, KS, St. Louis, MO, Baton Rouge, LA, Ada, Ardmore and Duncan, OK and San Antonio. His last store was in Amarillo, TX.
He retired from there in 1997.
Ed was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Wheeler and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wheeler and Shamrock.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening, as well as taking care of cows and chickens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Gladys Pannell; and his wife, LaVenna Pannell.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Kirk Pannell of Briscoe, TX and Corey Pannel and his wife, Colleen, of Briscoe; his brother-in-law, Kent Follis of Waurika, OK; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
