Elaine “Mom” Webb Townsend, 96, of White Deer, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Church of Christ in White Deer with Dale Meadows, officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Elaine was born on January 11, 1928 in Winn Parish, Louisiana to Georgie and Beatrice Harper Webb. She was raised in Louisiana and moved to Pampa in 1960. Elaine moved to White Deer a couple years later, in 1962, where she resided until her passing.

She earned her degree in nursing and began working at the hospital in Groom as a surgical nurse. Elaine worked in Groom for 12 years before working at Highland General Hospital, and later Coronado Hospital, as an emergency room nurse.  She worked in Pampa for 18 years until her retirement in 1998.

Elaine enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and reading. When the loss of her vision affected her ability to do many of the things she loved, she was always able to cook. Elaine also enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers games and listening to her tapes.

She was a very devoted member of the Church of Christ in White Deer, where she loved to worship the Lord with her church family.

Elaine’s purpose and passion in life was to make sure her family and friends had a close, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

She loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.

Elaine will be deeply missed by her family and all of those that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgie and Beatrice Webb; the father of her children, Stanley Townsend; her brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Barbara Webb; her daughter, Cherryle McGlothin; three sons-in-law, Billy McGlothin, Stan Bush, and Raymond Buddy Reynolds; one grandson, Michael Townsend Cornelison; and great-grandson, Damien Gibson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Cornelison and husband Lee of Pampa and Gail Bush of White Deer; one sister, Bennie Barber and husband Bill of Goldonna, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Jacinda Cooke and husband Marvin, Kari House and husband Donald, Carol McCord, Kelah Watson, Marla York and husband Kevin, Rindie Hunt and husband Scott, and Kiley McGlothin and wife Jamie; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Neuman and the staff at Pampa Regional Medical Center.
