Eleanor “Ellie” Thatcher, 80, of Pampa, passed away on April 29, 2023, at her home in Pampa.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. Her service will be livestreamed through the funeral home’s website.
Eleanor was born on February 11, 1943, in Marion, Indiana to James and Dorothy Goodloe. She moved with her family to California in 1945 where she grew up and attended school. She married Reinald Zottneck and had two children, Roger William Zottneck, 61, and Kimberly long, 55. Ellie moved to Pampa in 1983 and was loan officer for the National Bank of Commerce. She worked at the Pampa Police Department as a dispatcher and worked as a children’s advocate for the courts. Ellie also worked at the prison in an administrative capacity. She later married Don Thatcher in 1983.
Eleanor was full of life and laughter and never met a stranger. She loved to travel and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jimmy Goodloe, and David Goodloe.
Eleanor is survived by her son, Roger Zottneck of Long Beach, California; a daughter, Kimberly Long and husband Mike of Lawton, Oklahoma; husband, Don Thatcher of the home; a sister, Millie Elmore and husband Jeff of Lancaster, CA; two brothers, Johnny Goodloe and wife Lois of Happy Valley, OR, and Brian Goodloe and wife Colleen of San Diego, California; six grandchildren, Matthew Kent, Anthony Ekman, Sedona Warren, Kyle Zottneck, and Vanessa Zottneck; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and she loved them all.
