Garland “Dewey” Kysar, 77, of Pampa, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, in Pampa.

Memorial graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Mobeetie Cemetery with Rev. Zack Greer, an associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements and burial are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Dewey was born on April 7, 1946 to Loyd and Bert Kysar in Pampa. He was the youngest of four children. Dewey graduated from Mobeetie High School and shortly after he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served his country. After being discharged in 1967, he worked at a few jobs that included Celenese, Cabot, High Plains International, B & K Tank Truck, and lastly at National Oilwell where he retired.

Dewey was known as a Welder’s Welder. To some that knows him the longest, he was known as the “Mexican” for his dark complexion. He could weld anything from pudding to Platinum. He was a beloved son, brother, Daddy, and Paw-pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Kysar and Edwin Kysar; and by a sister, Gladys Kysar.

Dewey will be missed by his four children, Shon Kysar of Pampa, Julie Maul-Kysar of Kingston, OK, Jason Kysar of Amarillo, and Shaunna Gray of Pampa; four grandchildren, Vandi Nuckels and husband Jared, Channing Maul, Briley Chadwick and fiancé Kyler Horst, and Jacie Kysar; great grandchildren, Faylee Nuckles, and Elsie Jo Nuckles, and a Horst greatgrandchild on the way; two very special nieces, Nancy Kysar of Florida, and Vicky Allen-Kysar of Texas; and his favorite dog, Toby.

The family would like to extend gratitude to nurse, Sara Arnett, RN for her care of Dewey.
