Gary Kite Montgomery, 76 of Pampa, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 30, 2025.
Gary was born in Longview, Texas on October 7, 1948 to Jim and Melba (Wiley) Montgomery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Lou Hubbard of Norman, OK and one son Gary Michael Montgomery of Pampa, Texas.
Gary’s family moved to Wheeler, Texas where he graduated in 1968. He was married to Sue Zan “Suzie” McNutt on March 1, 1974 in Pampa, Texas. Together they raised 3 sons, Lesley, Gary Michael and Mark. He retired from Celanese Chemical Plant in Pampa and continued to work at Willis Oil Field Manufacturing until 2010.
Gary’s greatest joy and calling was sharing Jesus with everyone he met. After the passing of his father, he continued the mission of making horseshoe nail crosses and sending them to missionaries all over the world. He was involved in any ministry that he could including Harvest House, Kicking Bear, and he was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was also involved with a prison ministry and Emmaus. He was never satisfied with hearing one message and visited churches all over Pampa.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sue Zan “Suzie” (Pampa), one brother Sam Montgomery (Karen) of Lipan, Texas, 2 sons, Lesley Montgomery (Ashley) of Panhandle, Texas and Mark Montgomery (Holly) of Amarillo, Texas. He is also survived by his 7 beloved grandkids, Moses Montgomery of White Deer, Texas; Thomas Montgomery of Canyon, Texas; Colson Tillery of Amarillo, Texas; Emma Montgomery of Panhandle, Texas; Raegan Tillery of Amarillo, Texas; Liam Tillery of Amarillo, Texas; and Ronan Montgomery of Panhandle, Texas.
In Lieu of Flowers the family encourages donations to Harvest House Ministry, Kicking Bear Ministry or Connection Men’s Sunday School Class.
A Celebration of Life Service for Gary will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 900 East 23 rd Ave., Pampa, Texas.
